POLICY AND DATA ANALYST – CONTRACT
Role Description
Social Justice Ireland is seeking a skilled part-time Policy and Data Analyst to contribute to a project requiring data analysis. The successful candidate will work with structured datasets and organisational information to produce clear analysis, identify trends, and contribute to strategic reporting and policy-related outputs. This role requires strong technical analytical capability, critical thinking, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, accessible reporting.
The successful candidate will contribute to the project part-time on a quarterly basis. This is an ideal contract for freelance researchers and data analysts seeking regular short-term project-work. It is also suitable for graduate students seeking to enhance their data analytical skills in the workplace. Each quarter, the successful candidate will work 15 days (7 hours per day) over a 4-week period. The project will commence in early April 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse structured quantitative datasets to identify trends, patterns, and key findings
- Conduct comparative and longitudinal analysis
- Support the development of reports, briefings, and strategic publications
- Apply statistical and analytical tools to enhance insight generation
- Present findings clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Contribute to evidence-informed planning and policy-related work
Skills and Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in quantitative data analysis
- Proficiency in Excel, R and/or Python
- Experience working with structured datasets and producing analytical outputs
- Strong written communication and report drafting skills
- Experience in public policy, research, social services, or related sectors
RATE OF PAY: €210 per day.
