Local Economic and Community Plans (LECP)

The Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government as produced guidelines for the development of Local Economic and Community Plans in each Local Authority Area.  These plans are overseen jointly by the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) and the Strategic Policy Committee for Economic Development.  Both of these groups have PPN representation.  

The LECP will set out, for a six-year period, the objectives and actions needed to promote and support the economic development and the local and community development of the relevant local authority area, both by itself directly and in partnership with other economic and community development stakeholders.  Thus it is an extremely important document in every county.
