We look briefly at voter turnout in the last local elections held in 2014, before taking a look at Local Authority expenditure (as published by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government in its ‘Local Authority Budgets 2018’ document), and the following budget lines in particular: Housing and Accommodation, Road Transportation and Safety,  Water Services, Development Management, including local job creation, Environmental Services, with a focus on Waste Management, Recreation and Amenity, Local Representation and Civic Leadership, Climate Change.
